03.10.05 - Peter Greven UK opens as agent and distributor for the UK and Irish Markets.
Peter Greven UK is DIN EN ISO 9001 accredited and operates from a modern purpose-built office/warehouse facility GMP audited and approved. The UK warehouse has a capacity of approximately 1000 pallets, thus allowing most of the product range to be stocked in Manchester. The company's sales strategy is to further develop relationships with its present and potential customer base. 01.09.05 - Peter Greven Acquires Stearates Business of CECA
Peter Greven Fett-Chemie GmbH & Co. KG, one of the market leaders for stearates in Europe, successfully concluded the acquisition of the solid stearates business of CECA S.A. as an integral part of its expansion strategy for international business. The transaction is effective September 1st, 2005.
Established in 1923 the family owned company has developed into an important producer of metallic soaps, alkaline soaps, fatty esters, fatty acids and glycerine. With the takeover of the solid stearates business of CECA, Peter Greven strengthens its market position and enlarges its product portfolio. CECA will stop production and the products coming from CECA will be integrated in the two production units of Peter Greven in Germany and the Netherlands.
The CECA solid stearates business is based mainly on Calcium, Zinc and Magnesium Stearates and accounts for approx 8.000 mt and a turnover of 8 Mio Euro.
Peter Greven has a production capacity for metallic soaps of more than 30.000 to. Together with other product lines the entire turnover of the company is approximately 60 Mio Euro. The management regards this acquisition as an important step towards a better profitability and a leading position in the European stearates market.
